Fixing my gut health

Over the past couple of months I’ve been focusing on fixing my gut health, its something that I have been researching for a while and the benefits are really becoming apparent. The main reason that I decided to focus on eating for good gut health is because everything that I have read about good gut bacteria tells me how positively it can affect your mental health.

The main things that I have noticed is that since focusing on fixing my gut health I have more energy, I can think a lot clearer (which has been a problem while being on anti depressants), my mood has definitely lifted, my ‘down days’ are less frequent and not as intense, my anxiety is easier to manage and I generally feel healthier from the inside out.

When I started on my journey to fix my gut health I was stumped for what to use, where could I start?

After a lot of research and the trial and error of many different products I want to share my favourites.

My favourite go to is:

Twisted Tonic Tea – Tummy Tamer

This tea is incredibly refreshing and has been carefully created by Courtney, the naturopath behind Twisted Tonic Tea. With herbs such as Ginger Root, Fennel Seeds and Dandelion Root its packed full of good stuff for your gut.

After that, I drink 2tblsp of apple cider vinegar mixed into a glass of water every morning before I eat anything, I drink bone broth and velvet lattes every few days and have started buying a pack of Yakult every time I go food shopping. I’ve changed up my diet and I eat a salad for lunch every day and I always mix in some kimchi and sauerkraut.
