Recently my partner introduced me to the idea of ‘90 minutes for 90 days’ the 90/90/1 rule comes from author Robin Sharma. The idea is to make time in your life to work on your ‘passion project’. Sharma states “For the next 90 days, devote the first 90 minutes of your work day to the one best opportunity in your life. Nothing else. Zero distractions. Just get that project done. Period.” With this in mind I decided to spend the next 90 days doing 90 minutes of yoga every day.
Starting yesterday I could feel just how tight my hips, hamstrings, glutes, shoulders, arms (this list could go on) were while I was pushing through my first 90 minutes of yoga, broken up into 3×30 minute blocks. The journey over the next 90 days is going to test my discipline and take my mind and body on a journey to a more open place.
I’ll be documenting my 15th, 30th, 45th, 60th, 75th and 90th day in separate blog posts focusing on how my body has changed, how I’m feeling mentally and how I have modified my time to fit in an extra 90 minutes of activity.
I encourage you to challenge yourself and join me on this journey, whether it be yoga or anything else you have wanted to dedicate a serious amount of time to. Make sure to let me know in the comments or via Instagram if you’re joining me so we can share words of encouragement.
(Edit: I’ll take this photo again on day 90 to compare the three month difference.)
